This update included new features and fixes.

New Features – Analysis​

Course Comparison

  • Updated UI:
    • Matrix view added
    • Overview view added

Course Overview

  • Bulk export option added to actions menu:
    • The 'KPI View' is taken into consideration (only the rows on screen are exported).
    • Each course is added to a separate tab in the spreadsheet.

Key Stage 5 - Phase 1

  • The first set of five tools for analysing key stage 5 performance data are now available:
    • Press Release
    • Results Overview
    • Course Summary
    • Course Comparison
    • Value Added
  • Please note: uploading KS5 data from 4Matrix Cloud to Fusion is not yet supported. This functionality will be added soon.

Quick Links

  • A new set of 12 text-based prompts is available for KS4 series from the right-side menu.
  • Quick Links let you jump straight to commonly used analyses or views without having to navigate through multiple screens, helping you reach key tools and insights much faster. Example prompt: “Show the performance of SEN students in all courses.”
  • The Quick Links menu can be opened or closed using the purple lightning icon.
  • Use the Pin icon to keep your favourite Quick Links at the top of the list, giving you even quicker access to the tools you use most.

New Features – Admin​

GIAP Import Feature

  • 4Matrix Cloud now supports the upload of GIAP files, via the main data upload tool.
  • Both KS2 and KS4 GIAP formats are accepted:
    • KS2 GIAP files are used for Scaled Scores.
    • KS4 GIAP files are used for GCSE APS/KS4 APS and for supplying the best English and Maths points required for specific KS5 performance measures.
  • During upload, 4Matrix automatically maps all required GIAP columns and removes any that are not needed.
  • After the GIAP file is uploaded, all series for the cohort are automatically recalculated.
  • Variations in KS2 GIAP methodology across different years are handled automatically.
  • Existing pupil names in 4Matrix Cloud are not overwritten when importing a GIAP file.

Import (all routes)

  • Supports key stage 5 performance data:
    • Import termly assessments and targets via the spreadsheet import.
    • Both Arbor and Bromcom MIS imports can import KS5 exam results.

Pupil Basedata / Markbook

  • Columns added for KS4 APS data (for use with key stage 5 Value Added).
  • Columns added for overriding the inclusion status of pupils in some of the key stage 5 performance measures:
    • Level 3 Maths (coming soon)
    • AAB Facilitating
    • Best 3 A Levels

New Features – Misc​

Course Tools

  • Course Analysis becomes Course Tracking (for consistency in naming and functionality with Performance Tracking).
  • Course Analysis now compares a course from two series side by side at pupil-level.

Emails

  • The email that the 'main' user receives on signing up for 4Matrix is updated to include 4 guidance links (getting started, support, training, MIS links).
  • The email that users receive (when added to a school database) is updated to include 2 guidance links (getting started and training).
  • When a user is linked to an additional school, the confirmation email now includes an 'Accept' option which must be selected to grant the user access to the linked school(s).

Welcome Message

  • All users will see a prompt on logging in which includes links to help articles and videos.

Fixes – Analysis​

Grade Breakdown

  • Clicking a course in the grid will open Course Overview instead of the Dashboard.

Fixes – Admin​

Data Connections

  • Configured items open in expanded view by default.
  • Any items not configured have an 'Activate' option.
  • Any items configured have a 'Deactivate' option.
  • All modals and information contained has been updated.

Edit Results

  • Changes to Fine Grades will save as expected.

Import - All routes

  • Fixed an issue that prevented the 'Replace All' function from working if the replace function had already inadvertently added more invalid values.
  • Fixed an issue whereby KS4 grades would not display throughout the import if a KS5 series was active in the main menu (note: it was possible to import KS5 data prior to this update).

Import - Migrator

  • Now accepts file sizes of up to 20mb.

Import - Spreadsheets

  • All column headers in the Validate step match the name of the mapped value, instead of the spreadsheet column headers.

Pupil Basedata / Markbook

  • Scaled Scores are ordered first (to the left, after names).
  • Improved column bandings.
  • Options to switch between KS4 and KS5 data in the right-hand panel.

Pupils

  • Updated UI; selecting a pupil now opens a tray from the right of the screen.
  • Fixed an issue that prevented changes to pupil names from saving.

Series > Courses

  • Manually adding a KS5 course will work as expected; the course will no longer disappear after being added.

Staff

  • Fixed an intermittent issue whereby applying an email address in the 'Linked User' field would cause an error.

Subjects

  • Fixed an error that would occur on selecting 'Add New'.

Users

  • On editing a user, clearing the 'Lockout Enabled' check no longer removes the Roles assigned to that user.

Auto-logout Screen

  • This page now includes additional options to log back in using SSO or close the session.
