This update included new features and fixes.

New - Analysis​

Calc Engine / Performance

  • Added 2025 validated Value Added coefficients. These will automatically apply to new Year 13 series in 2024–25 and later academic years. Existing series will not be updated automatically; Value Added settings can be changed via the Edit Series tool where required.

New tool - KS4 Course Value Added 'SVA'

  • Benchmark course outcomes against national averages by subject and KS2 prior attainment.

Pastoral Data / Course Summary

  • Pastoral data (such as ATL, Behaviour, and other custom fields) can now be displayed within the Course Summary tool (see New - Admin below for details).

Press Release

  • Added a new option to print both KS4 and KS5 versions. The print option downloads a print-ready PDF.

Quick Links

  • In the English and Maths tool, selected data grid columns can now be saved as part of custom Quick Link configurations.

Fixes - Analysis​

KPI

  • Fixed Ethnicity reporting rows.
  • Fixed Attendance reporting rows when filters were applied.

Pupil Filter Control

  • Fixed Ethnicity filters.

Quick Links

  • Fixed an issue affecting the predefined Results Overview Quick Link.

New - Admin​

New Tool - Pastoral Fields

  • Create and manage up to four custom pastoral fields for data such as ATL, Behaviour, and other measures.
    • Pastoral data is stored per series and can be used across all key stages.
    • Demo fields are included by default and can be edited or removed as required.
    • Once enabled, pastoral data can be imported via spreadsheets (using a new pastoral mapping step) or entered manually using the Edit Results by Course tool.
    • Pastoral fields are displayed alongside performance data within the Course Summary tool.

Duplicate Series

  • Pastoral data is now included when duplicating a series.

Import

  • When Pastoral Fields are enabled, an additional mapping step is available during import.
  • The Effective Date selector now displays a warning when the selected date falls outside the chosen Academic Year.

Pupil Basedata

  • Added separate Bulk Action options for clearing KS2 and KS4 prior attainment data.

New Tool - Import Maps

  • Added a new tool for resolving mapping issues. We recommend contacting 4Matrix support before making changes using this tool.

Fixes - Admin​

Edit Results by Course

  • Fixed an error that could occasionally occur when changing courses.

Groups

  • Groups are now sorted alphabetically and by type.
  • Fixed an issue where the Name field could be automatically truncated when populating the Code field.

Import (All)

  • During series creation, the Continue button now activates as soon as a Short Code is entered.
  • When creating a new course, the Performance Type now defaults to the Series setting.
  • Course mappings are now saved against the relevant Performance Type (KS3, KS4, or KS5).
  • Restored visibility of the Refresh option in the Map Course step.
  • Restored ability to map the same course multiple times (for example, Higher and Foundation entries).
  • Updated the Date Selector with improved styling.

Import (Custom KS3)

  • National Subject Code is now a mandatory field when creating a new KS3 course.

KPI Settings

  • Fixed an issue where some Ethnicity values were displayed as "Undefined".
  • Fixed an issue that could prevent Edit options from activating.

Pupil Basedata

  • Fixed an issue that could occasionally cause manually entered values to be changed to -1.
  • Updated field labels for improved consistency.

Roles

  • Roles are now sorted alphabetically, with Admin and User pinned to the top of the list.

Users

  • Fixed an issue affecting the Linked School email for multi-school users, which could incorrectly display a "Code Invalid" error.

UI

  • Updated colour selection options in KS3 Options, Pastoral Fields, and Subjects.

Misc

  • Updated styling for system emails (Password Reset, SIMS Activation, 2FA)
